After just six months of dating, New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries popped the question to Kim - with a 20.5 carat ring!
The proposal was unexpected and sweet, with Kris waiting on bended knee in the bedroom of Kim's Beverly Hills home. "Will You Marry Me?" was written out beside him in rose pedals.
"OMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! It’s true!" Kim blogged of her May 18 engagement. "I couldn’t be happier! Thank you guys for all of the sweet messages!!! I finally found my missing puzzle piece, I’m complete!"
So why a $2 million ring? Kris says he had only one requirement when looking for a diamond: "I just knew I wanted it to be big," the NBA player told People magazine. The baller-sized ring was designed by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz and features a 16.5-carat emerald cut center stone with a pair of 2-carat trapezoids on either side.
Kim says it's nearly identical to the perfect ring she had pictured as a kid. “It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," she gushed to the mag.
Six months may not be a long time, but they did wait five months longer than Khloe Kardashian and her basketball hubby Lamar Odom to get engaged, so they've got that going. Now we just want to know when 'Kim & Kris: Newlyweds' will air on E!
Congrats, Kim and Kris!
